In this easy to follow video tutorial, we will show you how to make a knitted cord, with step by step instructions that take you from cast on to knitting to cast off. I-cord is a good skill for every knitter and has a multitude of uses. It can be used as a drawstring, a decorative ribbon, closures for a sweater or a bag, or even jeweller on it's own! Step By Step

1.

Cast on your stitches.

Hold needle with stitches in your right hand.

Slip each stitch onto the left needle.

Bring the yarn behind the work over to the right-hand side.

Insert the right needle into the next stitch from left to right and knit normally.

Pull firmly on this stitch to tighten up.

Repeat to remaining stitches.

Transfer stitches as before and repeat the knit process.

When the cord is the length needed, cast off.
