Learn how to make a slip knot in this simple tutorial.
Learning how to tie a slip knot is one of the first techniques when picking up knitting, as it's used in the cable cast on technique. It's also used in crochet, creating the first chain stitch in your foundation row.
Take the end of your yarn and make a loop.
Take the shorter end and pinch your fingers through the first loop and pull another loop through.
Hold onto the short end and the main end of your yarn and pull on the second loop.
You now have an adjustable loop which is ready to be pushed over your knitting needle or crochet hook.
