In this video we will show you how to work a double crochet mesh stitch, which creates a drapey fabric, perfect for summer tops.
To begin working double crochet mesh stitsh, begin by making a foundation chain with an even number of stitches.
Once you've done that, chain an additional 4 stitches. This will act as your turning chain.
Next, work a double crochet chain into the sixth chain from the hook.
Wrap your yarn around your hook and bring it through the first 2 loops, wrap your yarn around your hook and bring it through the next two.
Now chain one, and you will now work a double crochet stitch into the stitch after the next stitch.
Keep repeating these steps until you reach the end of your row. Creating double crochet stitches, divided by chain spaces.
To start your next row, chain four stitches. Work a double crochet stitch into the seventh stitch from the hook.
Now you are going to work a double crochet stitch directly on top on the one in the previous row, that is what will create this nice mesh effect.
