Learn how to knit a right leaning purl decrease
Right leaning purl decreases creates a lovely neat edge, when you need to decrease on a purl row. This decrease is often called a 'purl 2 together through the back loop' or p2togtbl. This decrease is often used when you need to decrease on the wrong-side of the fabric, in rib, or when knitting in reverse stocking stitch. It can be used in any type of garment, from sweaters to scarves, hats to mittens.
Start with the yarn ready to work a purl stitch, and the right needle behind the needle.
Insert the right needle into the back of the second stitch on the left needle, from left to right.
Continue by inserting the needle into the first stitch.
Wrap the yarn around the right needle and complete the stitch as for a normal purl stitch.
Let's see that again from another angle.
