Step By Step

1.

Our Ipanema Espadrilles sandals were designed as part of a collaboration with Soludos, a New York based shoe brand.

2.

In your kit you will find a pair of jute soles, a cone of our Mixtape yarn, a 5mm crochet hook, a needle and mini-ball of thread.

3.

The first piece that you need to make is your closed toe piece. You will work this piece in single and double crochet.

4.

On your toe piece you will form a loop where you can thread your tie through.

5.

Once you have crocheted the toe piece, you are ready to work your heel piece.

6.

For your heel piece make sure to leave a yarn tail that is 200cm long. You will work in crochet and double crochet stitches.

7.

Once you've completed the heel piece, weave in the ends. You are now ready to attach your crocheted pieces to your Soludos sole.

8.

Measure 8cm from the back of the heel, this is where you are going to position your heel piece and attach it using the blanket stitch technique.

9.

You will need 300 centimeters of yarn to stitch the seams.

10.

Make sure to work across the sole between the toe and heel pieces.

11.

Hide your ends by knotting them securely and weaving them into the crocheted piece.

12.

If you want to thread a tie through, you can do that using the little loop on the toe piece. Your Ipanema Espadrilles are now ready!
